Bev Clark & Keith Hill’s R.I.P. Mr Shakespeare wins several awards and accolades.
Since the debut performance at The World Museum in Liverpool, in April 2016 by Hand In Hand Theatre the play has gone on from strength to strength, first winning the Leverhulme Drama Festival in the categories of Best Play, Best presentation, Best comedy performance (Keith Hill) and The All England Theatre Festival Merseyside trophy. Also performed at The Concert Room St George’s Hall Liverpool to rave reviews.
“All’s well that ends well” and, much like a Shakespeare play, the show ended with an epilogue – it is at this point I literally had goosebumps”
At the AETF semi-finals (the Northern Area Final) this play won Best Play and Best Presentation again. In Maidenhead All England Theatre Final – RIP Mr Shakespeare won the Award for Exceptional Creativity.
At the April 30th 2017 NODA awards it won Best Play and Best staging (results April 30th 2017)
This play has also now also been performed by Broadway Theatre Company in the Isle of Man Drama Festival where it won Best Youth play, Best director, Best actor, Best actress as well as Best sound and lighting with a wonderful version of RIP which was reported as a “brilliant production” in the local press and reviews.
